About taking ear-impressions

In order to have your ear impressions taken, it is important that the ear is clean. You can have this checked or have it cleaned with your house doctor. Have this checked before you visit us or we come to you. If we can not make impressions on location because of a blocked ear, then 70 euros will be charged for this as compensation for travel expenses and time.

How do I check my ears?

Make an appointment with your house doctor to have the ears checked and possibly cleaned. Usually this is done by the assistant. Make sure that the ear is dripped 2 times a day with a little salad oil every day 3 days in advance. This softens the possible cerumen (earwax), making it easier to remove. This prevents a new appointment having to be made and prevents the ear from becoming irritated when spraying when the clot does not come loose.
